SEAL RESCUE AT THE HOOK, JUNE 2012
Seal Rescue at The Hook, June 2012 was inspired by a visit to the oldest functioning lighthouse in the world, off the south coast of Ireland. In a museum on a wall were a series of images that told the story of a seal rescue that happened in the same location 5 years previous, with each image numbered and titled to reflect what was happening. These numbered titles instantly looked like track titles and so the idea of reflecting these images in music was born.
In 2021 the project was completed - 7 tracks taking in the many moods felt during that day; pain, apprehension, hope, fear, relief and finally, elation as the day drew to an end and the rescued seal swam back out into the sunset.
