Maybe the most beautiful piece I ever made. Initially it was supposed to be my Venus contribution to the planets suite but I ended up just removing the drums completely and it became something different. After this point I pretty much stopped programming drums as I'd become quite disillusioned with what I perceived to be my inability to mix them anyway (I still feel this way). The original track is now this.

So, what came out of the 'struggle' was more space for the music to breath and a greater emphasis on melodicism and the way the music moved through time.

I used a Yamaha DX11, electric guitar, piano (recorded on dictaphone), a recording of radio static (you can just about hear a bit of pirate radio randomly coming through at one point), birds, a string sample from Sibelius' 'Swan of Tuonela' which I've come back to again and again, and finally a bit of vocal from a Yma Sumac song.

The title translates as Flower Worm.
